PA

Howdy Folks, been a while since my last blog update- apparently there is no Internet in Carlisle so I had to wait a hot second to put this one up. As you will see after the jump it is rolling with pictures. Well to start off it has been a crazy week or so since Waynesboro and PA has been one rocky sonabitch. Sore feet aside we are hitting our stride and racking up the double digit days. Whether theses have been 10 miles or 18 miles is no importance to you, but let me say they have been some grueling, hot days. After a tough stretch we ended in Carlisle for two nights and a day, the first real "zero" day of the trip. Unfortunately for me that zero day was just one big reminder that I am no longer in college and cannot consume alcohol like any idiot any more. After a depressing hangover filled day and painfully watching the Seattle Supersonics or as people like to call them the Oklahoma City Thunder lose the in the NBA finals we were back on the trail the next day thanks to the kind students of Dickinson. After being in civilization with showers, tv, and beer I had never been so happy to return to the simple life of walking, eating, sleeping with a dash of complaining here and there. As you can see by the pictures we are past the half-way point on the AT but in our case halfway is a long long way away. I am far too lazy to identify most the of pictures below but I can tell you they are all in PA and all were reached with sore feet and solid minds for whatever its worth. A shout out to all the family and friends back home and whereever they might be. Love ya'll much. Until the next time I can find a computer.

Holla back,

Wes

Still Alive

Made it to PA. Spending the night in Waynesboro which is right over the border, hello the north and goodbye the south. Took it slow the first week, but we slowly made our way up to 10-11 mile days and this next week hope to take it up 12-15 mile days. The weather has been great other than one miserable day that consited to waking up in the rain and walking 8-10 miles in rain, walking along a side of a ride trying to get a hitch in the rain and eventually ending up back at the campsite. But for all those checking in, still alive, smoked my last cigarette first day in, sweating out all the toxins of the last four years.

Some pictures of WV and MD below. Until the next stop in a 5-6 days. I have a few more pictues but it is taking too long to load here. Will throw them in with the next update. Apologies for the spelling as always. Don't teach you eveything in an english minor. About to go enjoy some baseball and beer.
